City Tattersalls Toastmasters Club: How to Join

If you are interested in joining our club, the easiest way is to come along to one of our meetings as a visitor, free of charge and with no obligation. You will then be able to get comfortable with the proceedings, and even participate in Table Topics if you wish. You will be able to observe how we practice public speaking in a friendly, supportive and good-humoured atmosphere.

As a visitor you will receive a welcome kit with further information about our club and about Toastmasters, as well as a membership application form.

When you are ready to join, you will need to fill in the application form and pay the joining fee, as well as a pro-rata membership fee.

After you have joined, you will receive the 'Communications and Leadership Manual' from Toastmasters International, containing guidelines for your first 10 prepared speeches, which constitute the 'Competent Toastmaster' programme. Your first prepared speech is the 'Ice Breaker'.

Our current fees are as follows:

- One-off joining fee: $40.00
- Semi-annual membership fees: $45.00, due in September and March

Toastmasters membership fees are generally tax-deductible if your participation in Toastmasters is intended to further your professional career.

Important Note: Effective April 2007, it is a requirement that any new member of our club must also be a member of our sponsoring club, the City Tattersalls Club. The following membership levels are available: Social ($24.00 per year), Silver ($44.00), and Gold ($64.00). You can apply online via the City Tattersalls website.
